Kendal Hanna (1936-2024) was a pioneering abstract expressionist painter from the Bahamas, celebrated for his bold, emotive works that explore color, form, and movement. A self-taught artist, Hanna’s career spanned over six decades, during which he became one of the most significant figures in Bahamian art. His paintings often reflected his personal experiences, emotions, and a deep connection to the human condition. Hanna’s work has been featured in numerous exhibitions both locally and internationally, solidifying his legacy as a trailblazer in Caribbean art.

Kendal was one of the first people photographed by Duke Wells for the Bahamian Project. He was an avid supporter of the Project.
